Steph Hill is a music theatre performer, singer-songwriter and covers vocalist, specialising in pop, rock, folk and rnb, and is available for event performances. She hails from Brisbane, but is currently located in Melbourne.
Being rhythmically gifted, Steph channeled her skills into dance from a young age, although she learned piano and sung in choirs. After an injury at the age of 12 she joined a song and dance class at her dance school instead of ballet, and that’s when she started to pursue singing seriously. Her interest in piano solos diminished and she instead taught herself to accompany herself while she sang. She also wrote her first song at the age of 12.
As a performer, Steph has played as a solo artist and in bands Cardboard Cutout, Noosphere, The Fabled Ink and Palindromes, at venues such as Barsoma, X&Y, The Zoo and The Hi-Fi. Her current solo project is entitled ‘Flossy’. The Home page has some of her recent original recordings.
Musical Theatre is another passion, which has led her to perform in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Harvest Rain, QPAC), The Wizard of Oz (Harvest Rain, QPAC), The Scarlet Pimpernel (Ignatians Musical Society) and recently as Judy in A Chorus Line (Savoyards). Since her bachelor degree she has studied singing with Irene Bartlett and Dale Cox, and acting with Cienda McNamara. Steph is presently writing a cabaret entitled ‘I Think I’m Funny’, for performance later this year. Her showreel can be viewed via YouTube.
Steph is also available as a covers artist and has performed at weddings, restaurants and corporate events. She usually performs in a duo with a guitarist. Please click the contact page to discuss Steph Hill performing at your event.
