Steph rearranges existing works for various ensembles (including choirs) in a variety of genres, and writes original pieces for dance and film. Please listen via the SoundCloud plugin above to hear her portfolio, or contact me to get in touch regarding collaborative projects.
Since writing her first song at age 12, Steph’s aspirations have grown along with her skills. She has studied a Bachelor of Music at QUT Kelvin Grove, with tutelage from Dr Robert Davidson of Topology and vocal instructor Kristina Kelman. Her studies have inspired her to take her songs beyond the usual band context and to use the array of other instruments available. From Saxophones to synthesizers, from violins to vocoders, she likes to give each of her songs a distinctive sonic flavour. She considers Sufjan Stevens, Savage Garden, Sigur Ros, Kimbra, Mae and Jason Robert Brown among her greatest influences.
In 2006 she released her debut EP ‘Give or Take’. She released a limited-edition demo ‘Demoo Cow’ in 2009 and an EP with The Fabled Ink in 2010, entitled ‘The Myth’s Alive and Well.’ The latter EP is available for purchase via iTunes.
